Palm Beach beach bars

Palm Beach, the high-rise hotel strip, is packed with bars, and Visit Aruba notes that many of its nightlife spots are within walking distance of the resorts. If you’re staying here, our Palm Beach guide covers the rest of the beach.

MooMba Beach Bar

MooMba is an open-air palapa bar on the sand between the Marriott and the Holiday Inn, and one of the island’s liveliest beach party spots. Its official site places it there and lists bar hours of 10:00 am to 1:00 am Monday to Thursday and until 2:00 am Friday to Sunday, with the kitchen open 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. Live entertainment runs nightly, from local bands to international DJs. A July 2026 happy hour guide lists a 6:00 to 7:00 pm happy hour. Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill

Bugaloe sits on a pier over the water between the Riu and the Hilton, at J.E. Irausquin Boulevard 79. According to its aruba.com listing, it’s open daily from 8:00 am to midnight, with the kitchen closing at 10:00 pm. There are two happy hours, 5:00 to 6:00 pm and 10:00 to 11:00 pm, live local music every day, singing waiters, and karaoke on Wednesday and Saturday nights from 8:30 to 11:30 pm. Visit Aruba describes it as colorful with a family-friendly vibe.

Pelican Nest Seafood Grill & Bar

Built entirely over the water on Pelican Pier, at the Holiday Inn Resort Aruba, Pelican Nest has been around since 1994. A Visit Aruba listing shows it open daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, with happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A 2025 nightlife guide notes that happy hour starts with a siren. It’s known for its jumbo cocktails, and the July 2026 happy hour guide recommends ordering an Aruba Ariba here. Note that a service charge is added to the bill.

Nos Clubhuis

Upstairs at the Hadicurari Pier on Palm Beach, Nos Clubhuis gives you a raised view over the fishing boats and the sunset. The July 2026 guide lists happy hours of 12:00 to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Sunset Bar at Hilton Aruba

For something calmer, the Sunset Bar at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort is an open-air resort bar listed in the 2025 nightlife guide. The Hilton is also where the Aruba Ariba cocktail was invented in 1963, according to the Aruba Tourism Authority, so it’s a fitting place to order one.

SharQ’s Bahia

Listed on Eagle Beach in the July 2026 happy hour guide, SharQ’s Bahia has two happy hours: 12:00 to 1:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The later one is ideal for sunset on Eagle Beach.

Beach Bar Aruba (Druif Beach)

Directly across from the Divi resorts on Druif Beach, this bar has a spacious patio facing the sea. It appears in Visit Aruba’s 2025 nightlife guide.

Oranjestad and Surfside

Close to downtown and the airport, these bars have a more local feel. At Surfside you can watch planes coming in to land at the airport, and The West Deck has wide ocean views.

Surfside Beach Bar

Right on Surfside Beach on L.G. Smith Boulevard, this laid-back bar is open daily from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm, with the kitchen open until 9:00 pm, according to its official site. Happy hour runs twice daily, 12:00 to 1:00 pm and 5:00 to 6:00 pm, with 50% off selected beers, cocktails and wines (as of October 2026, per the bar’s site). There’s wood-fired pizza and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas, so you can spend the whole afternoon.

Reflexions Beach Bar & Restaurant

Beside Surfside Beach, Reflexions has beach beds facing the sunset. The July 2026 guide lists happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

The West Deck

A wooden deck over the sand at Governor’s Bay, The West Deck is open daily from 10:30 am to 10:00 pm, serving Caribbean small plates and frozen drinks (aruba.com). Order the “Beer Rita,” a local favorite.

Hours are roughly 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, so check before you make the drive. The July 2026 guide lists happy hour from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Combine it with our Baby Beach guide.

Tips for sunset drinks in Aruba

  • Get there early. Pier bars fill up fastest. Visit Aruba suggests arriving about 30 minutes before happy hour for a waterside seat.
  • Check for a service charge. Some places, such as Pelican Nest, add one to the bill.
  • Don’t drink and drive. Take a taxi back to your hotel, or walk if you’re on the Palm Beach strip.
  • Want the view from the water? A sunset cruise puts you out on the water itself as the sun goes down.
